RED WING Merchant Oxford 8044
In August 2016 Red Wing successfully introduced the new Merchant Collection, based on 1920s work boots. The popular boot is now also available as an oxford, for the warmer seasons and elegant events. Like its 6-inch counterpart (style no. 8061) the Red Wing 8044 is made with premium Ebony Harness leather, produced in the Red Wing's own S.B. Foot leather tanning facility. The boot is built without a toe-box on a Chemigum sole, which we've been using since 1964. The new Merchant Oxford has an elegant and slim silhouette, emphasized by the outer stitching that reaches up to the Achilles' heel. The low toe profile completes the look. A comfortable addition to any man's wardrobe, as versatile as it is stylish, it can be worn with Chinos, suit pants, and denim.
This collection can be viewed as an homage to the company's founder Charles Beckman, who worked as a merchant in Red Wing, Minnesota. The first boot manufactured without the shoe box was style no. 245, the „black chief“.
